Masterplan, Master project with Steve Hardy, 2016
Study Project
La Bouilladisse is a village grown to a city of the Aix-Marseille metropolis. Our urban proposal was aiming to improve connections and coherence at the scale of the metropolis, inscribed in the development of a new Val’Tram that should be built to connect this continuous urbanization, the project is at the articulation of this new hub and of the historic village centre.
Installed in a sloped beautiful landscape, we had a particular attention to the existing typologies of La Bouilladisse and qualities of living to be able to densify the area without being foreign to the living habits. We planned a variety of exterior landscapes, from public forests, to mineral public spaces, and semi-private exterior spaces. It resulted in a mixed neighbourhood conciliating housing, transports, production, sports and education.
This was the first project that Steve and I did together, the beginning of a repeated collaboration, because crossed critics, complementarity of capacities, diverse interests and respect makes design stronger.
