The site of the project is situated on the riverbank of the Colentina, in the north-east Bucharest.
This neighbourhood, mainly marked by its industrial, communist and then neo-liberalist urbanism is heterogeneous and conflictive. At the same time, the abandoned bank of the Dobroești Lake concentrates both savage burned land and classical aesthetics topoi.
This project starts with the ambition to domesticate the no man's land and to give structure to the city surrounding it.
The park is composed as a large surface having progressively different ambiances and qualities to let open diverse appropriations. Even if some built activities are placed upon, the projected park tries to emphasize the nature of the place more than replacing it.
The urban project is mainly marked by the continuation of the Soseaua Pantelimon. The street is redesigned to be able to be a linear public space, and industrial structures are integrated in the urban fabric. So productive and housing cities are no longer dissociated.
In the end of this boulevard, a public plaza is created, it connects transport infrastructures, the parks and two new buildings: a museum of Arts and Crafts and a School of woodworking. These two buildings are emphasizing the productive aspects of this area both by their architecture and their program. The project offers a reflexion from urban scale to structure details.
