Cultivating Synergies

The Carouge-Fontenette district is both one of the gateways to Geneva's densely urbanized area and the crossroads of 3 strong landscape elements: the Arve, the Champel cliff and farmland. Its urban fabric is very heterogeneous and disjointed, its public spaces poor, but it still has strong urban and landscape potential.
Our project was based on three pillars:
-a diagnosis, to identify gaps and untapped potential.
-the development of a method to enable participatory design
-the identification of three strategic axes that focus on their type of intervention, their character and enable the transformations to irrigate the entire site and beyond.
